Benazir income support program and Ehsaas program cover a wide range of projects for public welfare ranging from micro to macro level. Recently, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the new project of field hospitals to facilitate in the health department.
In the inauguration ceremony, there were present CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Health department members Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Khawaja Imran Nazir and Secretary Health Ali Jan.
Maryam Nawaz appreciated the efforts of the health secretary and others to complete the project within 6 week short span. They worked 24 hours to accomplish Field Hospital project 2024. The ‘Clinic on wheel project’ is announced on 1st May 2024 by Government of Punjab.
Purpose of field hospitals project
The basic aim of starting field hospital project 2024 by CM Maryam Nawaz is to provide good facilities of health in the rural areas of punjab where there are no proper hospitals or if there are dipenceries, they are not well equipped and facing lack of proper medication.
Unfortunately, there are major districts in Punjab where there are not available adequate health facilities. In the inauguration speech by Maryam Nawaz Chief Minister Punjab, The central concern is shown about the areas where there are no hospitals or clinics and the deaths are frequent due to inadequacy of health services and lack of doctors.
Field Hospital project is named as ‘’Clinic on wheels project’’. Earlier on, Maryam Nawaz announced Apni chat apna ghar housing scheme for Punjab residents. Solar panel scheme is also announced.

In the ceremony of inauguration of field hospitals, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz lamented the closure of previous projects and their negative impact. Keeping in mind the long term benefits of Field hospitals, following projects are launched:
CM announced the targeted use of containers to improve health services for the rural areas of Punjab in 36 districts of Punjab. Clinic on wheels project is designed on basis of Pay-for-Performance Model in which financial awards and benefits would be given to high quality providers.
Field hospitals being sister program of clinic on wheels is a milestone to upgrade the health department and aid the rural and urban public of Punjab. 32 field hospitals in various rural and urban areas of Punjab will be established. There will be modern facilities like ECG, X-ray, ultrasound, Pharmacy etc.
Announcement of Air Ambulance
Field hospital project 2024 along with a varied announcement of ‘Air ambulance’ is announced. It’s a great step from Government of Punjab Pakistan to provide world class facilities to the poor of rural areas specially.
There are thousands of patients in Punjab with critical situation in need of emergency surgeries, their lives can be saved. This sir ambulance will be on standby 24/7 for patients in critical condition and in dire need to get treated from Lahore hospitals.
Uniqueness of Clinic on wheels
Under cover of field project 2024, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz ordered the six days a week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, she informed. She said that this initiative aims to benefit 4 million people, significantly improving access to medical services.
To add further, 100 ambulances are announced to bring pregnant women of rural areas in field hospitals. Appointment of doctor and consultants will be on local basis.
In short, Clinic on wheels project proves to be a milestone for improvement of health department and CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated field hospitals project after many other initiatives for the people of Punjab.
