Are you a bright student but taken aback by financial problems? You don’t have to search for scholarship anymore as CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has announced Honahar merit scholarship program for students of Punjab.
In a recent meeting held in Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced this scholarship program on merit basis. She instructed to increase the quota six times and to speed up the process of scholarship awards.
For this scheme, all public sector universities of Punjab and eight private universities will be included in this scheme. Earlier On, Maryam Nawaz announced bike scheme for students of Punjab including males and females.
Honahar Merit Scholarship Details & Eligibility
All students of Bachelors of Sience studying in public sector universities are eligible to apply. Students studying in eight private universities will also be eligible to receive 100% scholarship. This scholarship will be distributed on merit basis.
Further execution plan and final dates will be announced later on. The number of students to receive scholarships is also increased from 4000 to 25000. Punjab domicile will be must in order to apply for this scholarship.
Establishment of new universities in Punjab
Maryam Nawaz in light of the aim to promote education and increase literacy rate in Punjab has instructed to establish universities in each district of Punjab on public-private partnership basis.
This will promote education and will also help students from remote areas to gain higher education. For the first phase, universities will be established in Jehlum, Wehari and Bahawalnagar. She instructed to execute the plan immediately.
She instructed to modernize educational institutions to equip them with latest technology and modern teaching methods so students can get education in efficient and advanced environment.
Maryam Nawaz has already announced Laptop scheme for students of Punjab on merit basis.

This initiative will help to increase literacy rate of whole province by providing education opportunities

After completing education, students will be able to acquire jobs or attain scholarship opportunities abroad.
Merit scholarship scheme is a great initiative for underprivileged students of Punjab. By removing financial barriers and promoting education for all, Punjab’s literacy rate will increase significantly. This scheme will play major role towards betterment of society and youth of Punjab.
