Have you ever wondered how BISP or Ehsaas Programme manages your data and transfer money without any hassle? Government of Pakistan under BISP launched National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) Survey to collect and arrange data of poverty stricken families.

NSER was first formed in 2011. Data of about 35 million people have been gathered so far. This data is used to efficiently launch and execute any welfare, social or economic program. BISP program or Ehsaas Program also get data from here

NSER works with almost all social and economic departments of Pakistan. This data set updates its data through door-to-door survey and through online web portals as well prominently through 8171 web portal.

NSER is an online repository of data collected through BISP and Ehsaas Program and is working since 2011. This data helps government to analyze and launch relevant programs to help households better their lives.

NSER survey collects information like housing, assets, households, dependents, job-holders, unemployed, marital status, monthly income, gross income etc. This program then executes several programs like BISP Kafalat, BISP Ration Riayat, Ehsaas Scholarships, Amdan program, Imdad programs etc

NSER needs no separate registration. When you apply to any of Ehsaas Program or BISP program, you are automatically added to NSER repository. However, if you are new user and have never ever registered before, you can apply though 8171 web portal online from your laptop/pc/mobile or through SMS

  • Type your CNIC number in message option
  • Send this SMS to 8171
  • You will soon be informed of your registration

NSER provides data to BISP of families registered. BISP New Payment for April 2024 has been released and the payment BISP 8500 has been increased to Rs. 9000 with an increase of 25%. Thai decision was made by keeping in view the needs of people and rising inflation.

No official app is launched so far for this survey. However, so many other apps are present in Google Play Store, you can check. NSER Survey can be done through online method through its website. They also launch door-to-door campaigns for people who are not familiar with the process or don’t have reach to internet.

Various kinds of Ehsaas Program Apps are also being launched on Play Store.

If you want to check your status and other information like tracking ID, registration, eligibility etc. You can simply follow these steps

  • Go to official website of NSER or NADRA
  • Go to 8171 web portal
  • Register yourself by providing relevant details
  • Now, Sign In using credentials you have used while registering
  • Or you can send an SMS to 8171 entering your 13-digits CNIC number

Following details will be required to complete survey once registration is done

  • Your income proof and other details
  • Your family members details
  • Valid CNIC issued by NADRA
  • Poverty Score (calculated after completing Ehsaas survey or BISP survey automatically)

NSER centres are the same centres like BISP tehsil offices, BISP regional offices or Ehsaas Program regional centres. These centres facilitates you in any kind of query or complaint. If you want to register for Ehsaas Program or BISP or NSER survey, they guide you in detail.

In a nutshell, NSER Survey is basically a backbone for all poverty alleviation and social welfare programs as it keeps record of registered and needy families to access, analyze and facilitate poor and needy families and to make the whole system efficient and transparent.
