In order to replace non-renewable energy resources, Government of Sindh has launched Sindh Solar Energy Project (SSEP). To lessen the burden of hefty bills and to provide relief to low-income, inflation-hit families.
Sindh Solar Panel Scheme is launched by Government of Sindh in collaboration with World Bank, NGOs and other private sectors. The price for solar panel system will be as low as Rs.7000. This plan will benefit around 2 lac families of Sindh.
Residents of Karachi will get 50,000 solar panels on same discounted price. The expected date for solar panel distribution is August 2024. Final date will be announced later and will be updated here as soon as it is announced.

Solar panels will create job opportunities on local level attracting local public to grab job and improve their living standard. The jobs include manufacturing, transportation, installation and maintenance of solar panels.

Solar panel schemes will enable government as well as households to reduce cost of producing electricity. Solar panels have low maintenance and installment costs so they will be beneficial for long-term.

Solar energy will help keep environment clean and will reduce carbon footprints by reducing carbon levels form from coal. This will also protect environment and will help overcome climate change.
Registration for Sindh Solar Panel Scheme
Solar panel scheme registration date and portal will be announced soon. Specific date hasn’t been given by government yet. Final schedule of registration, online apply and distribution will be announced later.
Solar panels will be provided to low income households of Sindh at subsidized rates. Residents of Sindh will have to pay just Rs.7000 and the rest of the cost will be covered by Government of Sindh.
Previously, CM Punjab has also announced Solar panel scheme for Punjab.

This solar panel scheme is launched by Sindh Government with the help of World Bank which is major financial and strategic partner for this project. It will provide major funding for execution of this project.
Many other international donors, NGOs, private sector companies and local bodies have agreed to assist and contribute towards efficient execution of this project.
